Building Constituencies

Charles Payton from 4Culture focused on securing funding and community support for our institutions. He discussed 4Culture’s grant programs, as well as other places to look for funding, and encouraged archives and other heritage organizations to work together to build constituencies in the community and among policymakers.
Washington Film Preservation Project
March 9, 2006 – University of Washington
Nicolette Bromberg and Hannah Palin discussed this grant-funded film preservation project. After hearing about the ins and outs of the project, attendees got a tour of the UW’s film work area and equipment, and left with a very helpful manual explaining how best to care for film collections.
Eastside Heritage Center
September 29, 2005 – Winters House, Bellevue
The fall program was held at the Eastside Heritage Center in Bellevue. Newly appointed director Heather Trescases gave attendees a tour of the historic Winters House and an overview of the Center’s collections. New steering committee members Marjorie Reeves and Julie Kerssen were also introduced.
